The Nest

The-difference-between-registered-and-certified-NDIS-providers-1_edited_edited.jpg

Our purpose-built environment for autistic nervous systems.

What this is:

The Nest is not a program. It's infrastructure - a physical environment designed for regulation, participation, and connection without masking expectation.

This is where interest-based participation supports are delivered, where allied health collaboration is implemented, and where capacity building lands in real life.

What you'll find:

The Nest has been designed with autistic sensory and regulation needs in mind.

Spaces include:

  • Arcade and air hockey

  • Board games and card games (Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering and much, much more)

  • VR and Nintendo gaming

  • Creative and arts spaces

  • Movement options

  • Quiet areas and places to just be

  • Guinea pig area

You don't have to use everything. You can participate in as little or as much as you like, with no pressure to perform, socialise beyond your capacity, or push past regulation.

How It's Designed:

Sensory-considered - Lighting, sound, and space have been designed to reduce sensory load. Adjustments are available based on individual needs.

Regulation-first - The environment is structured to support nervous system safety before anything else. Supports begin with regulation, not despite it.

Predictable and flexible - Routines and spaces are consistent enough to feel safe, and flexible enough to respond to fluctuating capacity.

Masking not expected - Stimming, movement, opting out, and different ways of participating are standard – not accommodations.

Who This Is For:

The Nest supports participants across ages 6 to 60+, with age-aligned spaces and supports:

  • Ages 6–9 – early childhood safety, play, and foundational regulation

  • Ages 9–12 – supported participation and confidence building

  • Ages 13–17 – identity-safe connection without pressure or performance

  • Ages 18+ – consent-led, regulation-first participation that protects energy and capacity

Before you visit:

If you or your child are visiting The Nest for the first time, here's what to expect:

  • You'll be welcomed by a team member who is neurodivergent themselves

  • There's no pressure to talk, make eye contact, or engage immediately

  • You can take time to orient to the space

  • Opting out is always available

  • We won't ask you to mask

If you have specific sensory needs or concerns about the environment, we capture that in our Sensory Safety Plan paperwork in advance and we'll do what we can to prepare.
