Allied Health Collaboration

Neurodivergent Empowered collaborates with allied health professionals to support coordinated, participant-centred delivery for autistic and neurodivergent people.
We provide neurodivergent-affirming infrastructure that allows strategies developed in 1:1 therapy to be practised, implemented, and observed within real-world, regulation-safe environments, while also offering therapeutic and capacity-building supports that complement your clinical work.
This approach aligns with the National Autism Strategy, which emphasises meaningful participation, inclusive environments, coordinated supports, and reducing barriers to community involvement.

Two Collaboration Pathways
Neurodivergent Empowered offers two distinct collaboration pathways for allied health professionals, depending on the nature of your involvement with shared participants.

Pathway A: Inter-Professional Collaboration
This pathway applies when you are working with a participant who is also receiving services from Neurodivergent Empowered – whether therapeutic supports, capacity-building, early childhood intervention, daily living skills, or support coordination.

Within this pathway:
-
Each professional retains full clinical or practice responsibility for their own services
-
Collaboration is peer-based and consultative, not hierarchical
-
Information sharing occurs with participant consent to support coordinated care
-
Neither professional directs the other's clinical work
This model supports richer clinical pictures, aligned approaches, and reduced coordination burden for participants and families – without blurring professional boundaries.
Pathway B: Delegated Program Implementation
This pathway applies when you wish to delegate specific intervention components for implementation by our Therapy Assistants.
Within this pathway:
-
Treating allied health professionals retain full clinical responsibility for assessment, therapy planning, and clinical decision-making
-
Neurodivergent Empowered does not replace or duplicate allied health services
-
Therapy Assistants deliver only components that have been explicitly delegated for implementation under documented delegation and oversight
-
All collaboration occurs within clearly defined scope boundaries
This model supports continuity of care and strengthens real-world application of therapy strategies – while maintaining clear professional accountability.
Scope Clarity
Neurodivergent Empowered delivers a range of supports across multiple NDIS registration groups, including therapeutic services, daily living skills, early childhood supports, community participation, and support coordination.

The scope of collaboration depends on the pathway:

Within Pathway A, each professional delivers within their own scope and retains responsibility for their own services. NE professionals do not direct your clinical work, and vice versa.

Within Pathway B, Neurodivergent Empowered does not independently assess, design, or deliver allied health interventions, and does not replace the treating allied health professional. Where therapeutic supports are delivered within this collaboration, they occur only through explicit delegation and oversight from the treating therapist and are billed in line with NDIS requirements.
Why this matters
This collaboration model supports the intent of the National Autism Strategy by:
-
Prioritising environments that recognise and respond to autistic needs
-
Supporting participation without masking or performance pressure
-
Bridging therapy strategies into everyday contexts
-
Reducing fragmentation across services
-
Supporting coordinated, person-centred delivery
-
Enabling inter-professional coordination around shared participants
